What is a Web Browser?

We came across this video created by Google and realized that a lot of you may not understand exactly what a web browser technically is… for those of you that do you can probably skip this article.

We often discuss the importance of trying out different web browsers on your computer without considering that you may not understand what it all means. Your web browser is a program on your computer just like Microsoft Word or Outlook and within the browser you can use search engines like Google.

Here is a great article with a video to check out for more information on understanding what your web browser is and how it works.

As a web developer we primarily use Firefox because we can download and use a plethora of extensions that help us do our jobs. When designing and setting up websites we check the cross browser compatibility in Internet Explorer, Chrome and Firefox to make sure the website displays properly for all users across the web.

If you would like more info about web browsers or have any questions about how to ensure your businesses website is cross browser compatible please contact us.

Increase Traffic to Your Website

A few of our clients have been asking us the same question lately: How do I get more leads to find my website? We have provided those that have asked with so much information that they felt totally overloaded by the options!

Let’s explore one thing you can do to increase traffic to your website: INCREASE YOUR INBOUND LINKS!

There are so many things you can do to increase your website’s inbound links but first let’s explore what that means to you and your business.

Throughout the ever expanding internet there are literally millions of websites filled with links and information. Your goal (should you choose to accept it) is to get as many of those websites linking to your website as possible. You can include a descriptive title with your link and sometimes even include a brief summary as well.

All those links out there will drive more traffic to your website because a) people will click on those links and b) the search engines (like Google) will increase your website’s ranking and relevancy with the more inbound links you can create to your website!

With millions of websites out there where do you start? I suggest starting with networking / social media websites such as Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter and Zoom. Simply start by adding profiles and group pages for you and your company linking to your website.

Business directories are also a great resource for adding your company’s profile and with a simple Google search you can even find directories specifically for your industry.

If you don’t feel comfortable setting up your own profiles and inbound links or simply do not have the time please contact us and we can discuss how our team can help you increase the inbound links to your website.
