How mosquitos find their targets
There’s not really a lot of nice things to say about mosquitos. They’re itch causing blood sucking parasites that serve no real purpose except to annoy, and they’re ugly.
They track you by the carbon dioxide that you exhale. Unless you can figure out how to not breathe you won’t be able to escape their uncanny ability to find fresh meat.
Until very recently nobody knew how they did this. Scientists have determined that mosquitos have protein receptors extending from their jaws that enable the fly to sense carbon dioxide with its antennae.
